I had cherry sakura tea with a lovely friend in Balboa Park on a Saturday morning. Afterward, I went over to the arboretum and took these photos. The blooms seemed later and seasoned. It’s hard to see the seasons in San Diego; fall is a subtle flavor here.

I took a quick drive up to the Eastern Sierras during my Summer break from work. Went all over, lustily driving up twisty mountain roads and experiencing the quiet and majesty that is the American West. Sometimes I feel that the citizens of the United States are more apt to explore other countries than our own. It was a lovely, vivid trip that had me thinking and listening to my own pulse again.
A nice Saturday walk in one of my favorite cities. Vibrant, smart, creative and throaty… a good city should make you think of the people you love.
