I took a quick drive up to the Eastern Sierras during my Summer break from work. Went all over, lustily driving up twisty mountain roads and experiencing the quiet and majesty that is the American West. Sometimes I feel that the citizens of the United States are more apt to explore other countries than our own. It was a lovely, vivid trip that had me thinking and listening to my own pulse again.
This was all from an overnight trip to New York. I stayed in Queens, took the subway into Manhattan, and walked into Brooklyn.
A nice Saturday walk in one of my favorite cities. Vibrant, smart, creative and throaty… a good city should make you think of the people you love.
Here are some memories of Detroit from last summer. It’s a very surprising town… very beautiful and not as hard-nosed as it is often portrayed.
