A chilly afternoon in Boston. Met nice people and had great coffee and cupcakes.

February 2011 Western Florida
I took a quick trip out to the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Even though it was more or less of an overnighter (with the aid of our corporate jet), in between work I still found some time to squeeze in some surprising places. The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg was great, the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland was a treasure trove of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, Fort DeSoto Park early in the morning for some beach quiet, and then over to a street fair in Ybor City.
February 2011 Baltimore, MD and Pittsburgh, PA
Cold weather makes for fast photography… especially if you are normally a resident of San Diego, CA. These cities have two great museums: The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore. Both are small, vivid, and a part of what makes the United States such a surprising place to travel in.
December 2010 San Diego, CA
Recovering from a nasty cold and some nasty rain, San Diego decides to end the year on a “up”, albeit a sniffly one. A crisp afternoon at Liberty Station in Point Loma and Cabrillo National Monument. Awe inspiring views of San Diego and the loveliest of company made this a wonderful end to a fine year. Here’s to 2011!
